We then use step 2 to rebuild and lock those bonds into their new desired shape.

Step 2 reforms the disulphide bonds.

Many lash artists choose cysteamine because it is often:

Gentler on lashes

Lower odor than other formulas

Better for fragile or previously damaged lashes

More comfortable around sensitive eyes

Important note

“Gentler” does not mean impossible to damage lashes. Overprocessing can still cause:

Frizzing

Dryness

Bent lashes

Lash breakage

Correct timing and technique are still critical.

Timings:

Fine lashes 7-8 minutes

Average lashes 10 minutes

Strong course lashes 12-13minutes

Please remember to always check your lashes as although timings are a guideline it is critical you no how to check when the lash is ready.

If Step 2 is underprocessed, the lift can drop quickly. If overprocessed, lashes can become brittle or overcurled. That’s why matching Step 2 timing to Step 1 timing is important in most systems.
